The Most Epic Novella You'll Ever Read: The Fall by Ryan Cahill
For such a short book, The Fall sure does have a sweeping scope!
As implied by the title, this novella in The Bound and the Broken series is about the fall of an order of dragonriders—the Order.
We get to experience the city-wide battle from four different points of view, all distinct in their objectives, backgrounds, and even which sides they fought on.
The final perspective was easily the most fascinating: getting inside the head of our villain and discovering his motivations are more complicated than they first seemed.
I won't say it was a perfect book. The villain seemed a bit mustache-twirling in his dialogue and actions from the other perspectives. And because this entire story is one long battle, there's little to speak of in character development and growth.
But if you're looking for nonstop action and enthralling worldbuilding, look no further! The Fall has it all.
