We reached Stretch Goal #3! Color art, coming right up
I’m pleased to say the Legend of Tal: A King’s Bargain Kickstarter has reached Stretch Goal #3! That means the book is getting color art.
This happened largely thanks to the generosity of Michael J. Sullivan and his wife, Robin, in sharing the book on their latest campaign. I can't thank them both enough for their kindness.
I'm sure many of you have read Michael, but if you haven't, you're missing out! I thoroughly enjoyed Theft of Swords, the first installment in his Riyria Revelations series, and I imagine his latest series, The Rise and Fall, is even better. Do yourself a favor and give his books a read!
But back on the campaign - with Stretch Goal #3 hit, that means we're including artworks like the one below in the deluxe edition.
Presently, I have one other color piece in the works. I'd love to go for a third, but I'll have to run it by Andrew Cobble of Merrick Books (my project manager) to see how the costs are shaping up first. You'll know the decision as soon as I do!
For now, it's time to aim for the next stretch goal, which is...
Stretch Goal #4: putting hubs on the spine of the book!
If you don't know what I mean by "hubs," I'm talking about the ridges such as on the book below.
I think they give books a rather nice look and feel, that little extra "oomph" that elevates a special edition. I hope you agree!
That goal is set for $30k, which may be a stretch with just 5 days left. Still, I think we stand an outside chance of hitting it.
If you’d like to help the campaign reach it - not to mention pick up your own copy of the deluxe edition! - you can back the campaign through the button below!
